Used for projection
Holontronica - Projection
Hologauze® was developed in 2012 by Stuart Warren-Hill MD at Holotronica Ltd to create large scale hologram effects for the entertainment industry.
The fully silvered bobbinet weave is used as a highly transparent HD video projection screen with high contrast and excellent colour reflectivity.
The screen works with either 2D video projection or 3D stereoscopic polarised video projection systems and because Hologauze® is the first of its kind, it is the industry standard.
Hologauze XL® is made up to 7.4m wide and can be stitched together to make much larger screens for use indoors and outdoors.
Bobbinet weave is preferred because of its high strength and also it reduces unwanted Moire patterns when hung in front of a large video wall.
Hologauze® is sold worldwide and has been used by prestigious artists such as Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Eric Prydz, Fat Boy Slim, Eurovision Song Contest, Samsung, BBC, Disney to name a few.

“I hand make bespoke wedding veils using bobbinet silk tulle bought from Swisstulle. It is the best quality silk tulle I have had the pleasure to work with. I was lucky enough to visit the factory in Somerset and see the wonderful machines still making bobbinet using the same techniques as in the early 1800s. I love that I'm able to use silk tulle produced in the UK and ship the veils all over the world.”

Used for fishing whitebait in New Zealand
Netting Supplies - Whitebait fishing
Netting supplies manufactures whitebait nets from bobbinet tulle to catch tiny young fish called whitebait. It is a delicacy food in New Zealand with a relatively short fishing season running between 1st September and 30th October each year. A lot of people save up their holidays and spend the whole season down at the river to catch this delicacy food.
Netting Supplies uses bobbinet tulle because it is strong, durable and does not interfere with the current of the water. This is important because the whitebait are very sensitive to the current so if it changes it spooks them from going into the net.
