Parachutes

Genuine bobbinet is a fabric in which the weft yarn is twisted diagonally around the warp yarn to form an hexagonal mesh which is regular and incredibly stable. It also imparts a greater strength for less quantity of yarn, resulting in lighter, stronger fabrics.

The bobbinet fabrics are specified for many of the world’s military parachutes as they are renowned for their superb performance. Typical uses are for the periphery skirting of the chute where the open weave allows maximum airflow whilst maintaining stability and strength. They are also used for panels to improve manoeuvrability.
